(.flv) Flash VideoWelcome To ChalkhillKS2 (Primary) Film making
This film was made with children from the ICT club. They decided to make this film because they wanted all the new children starting at Chalkhill to have an idea of what the school is like.

The children also felt that people had the wrong impression of Chalkhill and that it was important to project the school as being a welcoming and friendly place. They also wanted to mention those in the school who are there to help them such as the teachers, the Blue Caps and the School Council.

There are many children from all over the world at Chalkhill who speak many different languages and they are all absorbed in the family at Chalkhill and cared for.
(.flv) Flash VideoWizard Of Oz - PreviewKS2 (Primary) Film making
The Year 6 teachers at Preston Park decided that the Year 6 children will perform The Wizard of Oz at the end of year production. This has become somewhat of a tradition at the school. We wanted to ensure that not only did the children enjoy participating, but also our audience would remember the performance.

Miss Caplan, Year 6 leader, suggested making use of the schools stage projector to show the first few minutes of the performance. This fitted in really well with the original 1930s motion picture, as it begins with a black and white introduction of Dorothy in her hometown of Kansas.

After several auditions, children were selected to play the different parts and become involved in learning more about what goes on behind the screen as well as performing to an audience.

This short project was original and a real motivation for children to learn their lines and participate within a digital literacy project which reinforces our need to not only communicate, but also at times, prioritise our audience. A lot of fun and excitment was had by all and we very much enjoyed having our school as a centre stage for multimedia work.
