(.flv) Flash VideoPrimary FrenchKS2 (Primary) Film making
This film was about the work covered in class. It was the first time French was taught at Brentfield which involved the Year Three Classes. I decided to make it cross curricular through fun and games. In the film one can observe the cross curricular links. For example:

- Tennis and skipping with the hoops helped the pupils to develop their physical skills as well as learning French words.
- Learning the months of the year and days of the week, which is also part of our maths curriculum.
- Counting from 1 to 10 in French. Pupils are not only learning new words but it is reinforcing their counting skills.
- Singing songs in French which they also learn to play on the recorder as part of their recorder programme. ( Music)
In addition, learning words of objects in the classroom and greetings means that they are able to use what they are learning on a day to day basis, which they do! For example, many children respond back in French during routine activities like taking the register, so the language becomes embedded in daily activities.

Positive outcomes:

One of my challenging pupils has become much less challenging since he has taken a leading role in the film. He has become more confident at reading in front of an audience, something he would never have done in the past.
Indeed, for all the EAL/SEN children, this has been an extremely positive experience, because the whole class has been on a level field, with everyone learning from the beginning.

(.flv) Flash VideoWizard Of Oz - PreviewKS2 (Primary) Film making
The Year 6 teachers at Preston Park decided that the Year 6 children will perform The Wizard of Oz at the end of year production. This has become somewhat of a tradition at the school. We wanted to ensure that not only did the children enjoy participating, but also our audience would remember the performance.

Miss Caplan, Year 6 leader, suggested making use of the schools stage projector to show the first few minutes of the performance. This fitted in really well with the original 1930s motion picture, as it begins with a black and white introduction of Dorothy in her hometown of Kansas.

After several auditions, children were selected to play the different parts and become involved in learning more about what goes on behind the screen as well as performing to an audience.

This short project was original and a real motivation for children to learn their lines and participate within a digital literacy project which reinforces our need to not only communicate, but also at times, prioritise our audience. A lot of fun and excitment was had by all and we very much enjoyed having our school as a centre stage for multimedia work.

(.flv) Flash VideoWelcome To ChalkhillKS2 (Primary) Film making
This film was made with children from the ICT club. They decided to make this film because they wanted all the new children starting at Chalkhill to have an idea of what the school is like.

The children also felt that people had the wrong impression of Chalkhill and that it was important to project the school as being a welcoming and friendly place. They also wanted to mention those in the school who are there to help them such as the teachers, the Blue Caps and the School Council.

There are many children from all over the world at Chalkhill who speak many different languages and they are all absorbed in the family at Chalkhill and cared for.
(.flv) Flash VideoGeography-SingaporeKS2 (Primary) Film making
Taken from Geography unit 16 Whats in the news? and unit 22 Contrasting locality overseas.

Preston Park year 5 students created a film looking at what it is like to live and work in Singapore. The idea revolved around the Evening News country focus feature.

Filming took place on a virtual TV news set using blue screen, and at various locations around the school and Preston Manor CLC where students had a chance to create mini dramas to illustrate their findings.

A lot of fun and excitement was had by all and we very much enjoyed having our school as a centre stage for multimedia work.

Students learnt how to program using simple instructions then were given the challenge to program a Lego buggy to navigate through a maze. The tension, excitement and eventual triumph was captured on camera on what was an action packed and enjoyable day of learning and teamwork.

The children have just performed this play at the CSD in front of a number of head teachers. The film was made to reinforce and consolidate the childrens French. I thought this will give them something to remember and at the same time, other children across the school would be enthused to learn the language.

(.flv) Flash VideoStompKS2 (Primary) Film making
STOMP has no words - everyone can understand it. It has little or no melody in the traditional sense, so it doesnt matter if your taste in music is jazz, classical, dance or pop. STOMP is about rhythm, which is common to all cultures. Everyone knows rhythm, if only from the beating of their own heart - it is the basis of all music.

In Year 5 we have been creating our own Stomp routines. We have been working in small groups to create our own performance, concentrating on the beat, and the control of our props.
